| 1 | (Top) News percieved to have broad reader interest nationally at the time of publication. |
| 2 | (Head) News percieved to be the best story in a given category at the time of publication, for example the best economics story, or the best foreign news story. |
| 3 | (Regular) A standard newsworthy story suitable for web publication. |
| 0 | (Not) The story might very well have online value, but probably not at the exact time of publication. Human decisions necessary. |
